columna infinita

After 27 years, ISCM World New Music Days is returning to Bucharest! The festival is organized by the Union of Composers and Musicologists from Romania (UCMR) and ISCM Romania. We are delighted to prepare for a memorable week of musical innovation, from May 23 to 31, 2026, when our capital will once again become a benchmark for international contemporary sounds.

The 2026 edition pays profound homage to the genius of Constantin Brâncuși, commemorating 150 years since his birth. We have chosen the Infinite Column as the festival's symbol: a representation of novelty, openness, and continuous ascent in creation. Just as sound waves endlessly unfold, Brâncuși inspires us to explore new dimensions of musical expression. This is the essence of our vision for the festival!
